Assembly & Installation

ProfessionalPergola Assembly

A pergola transforms a plain backyard into an outdoor room — but assembling one involves heavy beams, post anchors, and hardware that requires a methodical approach. We build prefabricated pergolas from start to finish so the structure is plumb, square, and safe to put a roof on later.

What you get

What’s included

  • Unbox and inventory all posts, beams, rafters, and hardware
  • Set post anchor brackets at the correct spacing using a square
  • Plumb and brace all posts while hardware cures or is bolted down
  • Attach all horizontal beams and cross rafters
  • Check for square and confirm no racking in the final structure

Simple & stress-free

How it works

1

Layout & anchor posts

We mark the post positions using a tape and square, install the ground anchors or deck brackets, and set the posts plumb before moving to the horizontal members.

2

Attach beams & rafters

We lift the main beams onto the posts, secure the lag screws or bolt hardware, and install the decorative rafter ends in the correct orientation.

3

Square & finish

We measure diagonals to confirm the structure is square, torque all hardware to spec, and confirm the completed pergola is rigid and stable.

We can help

Problems we fix

  • Posts set without checking for square — the entire structure parallelogram-shifts
  • Rafter decorative ends installed alternating wrong directions — mismatched look
  • Lag screws driven before pre-drilling — post tops split
  • Post anchor bolts not fully tightened into the deck ledger

Good to know

Pergola Assembly — FAQ

Do you install pergolas on wood decks or concrete patios?

Both. Wood decks use structural lag bolts through the decking into the framing. Concrete patios require concrete anchor bolts. We carry hardware for both.

Can you attach a shade sail or polycarbonate roof to the pergola at the same time?

Yes. If the material is on site, we install the shade sail or roof panels as part of the same job.

How many people do you send for a large pergola?

Pergolas over 12 feet wide typically need two people to safely lift beams. We assess the size at booking and staff accordingly.
