How it works
Prep the wall & cabinet
We mark and drill the wall plate into studs and use the manufacturer template to drill the upper cabinet mounting holes at the precise locations.
Lift & secure the microwave
We hook the unit onto the wall bracket, thread the bolts down through the cabinet floor, and tighten them to the specified torque with a helper holding the unit level.
Connect vent & power
We connect the exhaust to existing ductwork or install the recirculating charcoal filter, plug in the power cord, and test all functions before declaring the job done.
We can help
Problems we fix
- Wall plate anchored in drywall only — bracket pulls away from the wall under the microwave weight
- Upper cabinet bolts stripped because the drill angle was off
- Exhaust duct not sealed to the microwave collar — cooking fumes vent into the cabinet
- Power cord too short to reach the outlet inside the cabinet without pinching

Over-the-Range Microwave Install — FAQ
Do I need an outlet inside the upper cabinet?
Most over-the-range microwaves plug into an outlet inside the upper cabinet. If one is not there, an electrician needs to install it first. We are happy to coordinate with your electrician.
Can you remove the old microwave first?
Yes. We disconnect and remove the old unit before installing the new one. Old units are heavy — having a helper on site speeds this up considerably.
Do you connect it to an existing range hood duct?
Yes. If the duct is in the right position above or behind the microwave, we connect the unit's exhaust collar to it. If the duct is in the wrong spot, we switch the microwave to recirculating mode.
