A gate that sags and scrapes the ground or swings open on its own is annoying at best and a security problem at worst. We realign the posts, adjust or replace the hinges, and set the latch so the gate swings freely and closes with a positive click every single time.

How it works
Diagnose the sag
We check whether the gate has racked, the post has moved, or the hinges have simply loosened — the fix depends on the cause.
Adjust and reinforce
We tighten or replace hinges, add a turnbuckle tension brace if the gate has racked, and shim or reset a leaning post if needed.
Set the latch
We adjust the latch strike so the gate closes and latches with a firm click and doesn't rattle or fly open.

Wooden Gate Adjustment — FAQ
Can you fix a gate without replacing the whole fence section?
Almost always, yes. Gate adjustments are independent of the fence panels — we work on the gate, post, and hardware without touching the rest of the fence.
What's a gate brace and does my gate need one?
A turnbuckle brace runs diagonally across the gate frame from hinge corner to latch corner. It prevents racking. If your gate is sagging, it almost certainly needs one if it doesn't have one already.
What if the gate post has rotted at the ground?
A rotted post is the root cause of most gate sag. We can either replace the post entirely or sister a new post alongside the old one if the gate is a good distance from the end of the fence run.
Can you install a spring or self-closing latch?
Yes. If you need the gate to self-close — for pool safety, for example — we can add a spring hinge and a self-latching mechanism.
