Simple & stress-free
How it works
Diagnose the wire path
We pull the thermostat from the wall, check terminal connections, and trace the wire toward the air handler to find where continuity is lost.
Repair or replace the damaged section
We splice around a nick or break with properly rated connectors, or pull a new wire through the wall if the damage is near the terminals or too extensive to splice.
Test every HVAC mode
We trigger heating, cooling, and fan-only modes from the thermostat and verify the air handler responds correctly to each command before putting the wall plate back on.
We can help
Problems we fix
- Wire chewed by rodents in the wall or attic — particularly common in older homes and vacation properties
- Wires pinched in the wall plate when the thermostat was last installed or replaced
- Corroded wire terminals at the air handler side from condensation in a mechanical room
- Wire gauge too thin for newer smart thermostats that require a common (C) wire for continuous power

Thermostat Wire Repair — FAQ
My thermostat shows a blank screen — could it be a wiring issue?
It could be. If the thermostat runs on house power (via the C wire) rather than batteries, a broken or disconnected wire at any point will kill the display. We check the wire continuity first before assuming the thermostat itself is bad.
Can you add a C wire for a smart thermostat that needs one?
Often yes — most thermostat wire bundles have unused wires we can repurpose as a C wire without running new cable. We check what's available in your existing bundle first.
When would a full thermostat wire replacement be needed?
If the wire has been chewed along a long run, if it was cut during a renovation, or if the bundle simply doesn't have enough conductors for a new thermostat's needs, running a new cable is cleaner than multiple splices.
