Yes. We drive long trim screws through the hardwood into the subfloor from above, then countersink and fill the holes so they disappear after a touch-up.

Will repairs damage my hardwood finish?

We use thin-gauge trim screws and pre-drill carefully to avoid splitting. The filled holes are barely visible after a spot application of stain or finish.
