What you get

What’s included

  • Remove old switch and outlet cover plates
  • Install new matching cover plates throughout a room or the whole home
  • Center plates over devices for a finished look
  • Replace standard plates with decorator (Decora) size where needed
  • Handle single, duplex, and triple gang configurations

Simple & stress-free

How it works

1

Assess existing devices and plate types

We note which switches and outlets are standard vs. Decora style and confirm the plate style you want across all locations.

2

Swap all cover plates

We unscrew the old plates, install the new ones, and tighten them until snug — not overtightened, which would crack the plastic.

3

Verify level and alignment

We step back and check that each plate sits flush to the wall and isn't torqued sideways, especially on older boxes that have shifted.

We can help

Problems we fix

  • Old toggle switches that aren't compatible with modern Decora-style flat plates
  • Boxes that are set too deep in the wall, leaving a gap behind the plate
  • Multi-gang plates that require all devices to be the same style to fit correctly
  • Oversized plates ordered for renovation grade devices that are narrower than standard

Good to know

Light Switch Plate Replacement — FAQ

What's the difference between standard and Decora switch plates?

Standard plates have a hole sized for a toggle switch lever. Decora (or 'rocker') plates have a larger rectangular opening for wide rocker switches. The two don't interchange, so the plate must match the device.

Can you replace plates throughout my whole home in one visit?

Yes — a full-home plate replacement is a fast project. We bring a variety of styles so we don't need to make return trips for odd gang counts.

My wall has gaps around the old plate — can you fix that?

We can install an oversized plate that covers a wider area, or use a spacer shim to bring the box flush with the wall surface before the new plate goes on.
