Simple & stress-free

How it works

1

Prepare the window

We open the window to the correct height, check the sill level and install a support bracket if the unit requires one.

2

Seat and secure the unit

We lift the AC into position, extend the side panels and lock the window sash down onto the unit for security.

3

Seal and test

We fill gaps with foam tape, verify the slight outward tilt and run the unit to confirm it cools and drains correctly.

We can help

Problems we fix

  • Units installed without a support bracket that rest entirely on the window sash, risking a fall
  • Level or inward-tilting units that allow condensate to drip inside the room
  • Gaps in the accordion side panels that let hot air, insects and humidity back in
  • Oversized units that overload an outlet on a circuit with other heavy appliances

Good to know

Window AC Unit Installation — FAQ

Do all window AC units need a support bracket?

Units over 80 lbs or those in second-floor or higher windows typically need a support bracket. We assess weight and window type before mounting.

Which direction should a window AC tilt?

Slightly toward the outside — about 1/4" drop per foot — so condensate drains away from the room. We use a level to set this correctly.

Can you install a window AC in a casement window?

Standard window ACs are designed for double-hung windows. Casement windows require a specialized sleeve-type unit. We'll tell you at the visit whether your window is compatible.
