How it works

1

Score and soak

We lightly score the surface, then apply removal solution and let it soak in to break down the adhesive before stripping.

2

Strip and clean

We peel the paper in sections and wash the walls thoroughly to remove every trace of adhesive that would cause paint to bubble or peel.

3

Repair and prime

We skim or sand any torn drywall paper or uneven spots and apply a sealing primer so the wall is ready for its next finish.

We can help

Problems we fix

  • Adhesive residue left on the wall that makes paint lift and bubble later
  • Drywall paper tearing when paper was hung directly over unprimed drywall
  • Multiple layers of old wallpaper that require repeated soaking and stripping
  • Mold growing behind wallpaper in humid rooms that wasn't visible during installation

Good to know

Wallpaper Removal — FAQ

Can you always remove wallpaper without damaging the wall?

Not always. Paper hung directly to unprimed drywall (common in older installations) can pull the drywall paper facing off. We work carefully and can skim-coat any damage.

What if there are multiple layers of wallpaper?

We strip one layer at a time. Multiple layers take more time but are manageable. Each layer gets soaked and removed before we move on.

Do I need to prime after wallpaper removal?

Yes, always. The wall needs a sealing primer to lock down any remaining adhesive and even out the surface porosity before painting.
