ProfessionalSink Pop-up Drain Install

Bathroom sink drains wear out, corrode, or break — and a pop-up stopper that won't seal or won't open is annoying every single day. We remove the old drain assembly, install a new pop-up with the right linkage, and adjust it so it lifts and drops cleanly with the drain rod.

What you get

What’s included

  • Remove old pop-up drain assembly from sink and tailpiece
  • Install new pop-up drain body with plumber's putty seal
  • Connect pivot rod, clevis strap, and lift rod under the sink
  • Adjust linkage for correct open and closed positions

Simple & stress-free

How it works

1

Remove the old drain

We disconnect the pivot rod, loosen the locknut, and remove the drain body from the sink, clearing old putty from the basin.

2

Install the new assembly

We seat the new drain body with fresh plumber's putty, thread on the locknut from below, and connect the pivot rod through the stopper.

3

Connect and adjust the linkage

We run the clevis strap and connect the lift rod, then fine-tune the adjustment so the stopper seals flush when down and lifts fully when the rod is pulled up.

We can help

Problems we fix

  • Pop-up stopper that drops on its own because the pivot rod is loose
  • Stopper that won't seal tightly, letting the basin drain slowly
  • Corroded brass or chrome drain body that needs replacement rather than adjustment
  • Drain that leaks at the sink basin due to dried-out or missing plumber's putty

Sink Pop-up Drain Install — FAQ

Can I buy a universal pop-up drain?

Universal kits fit most standard bathroom sinks. If your sink has a non-standard drain hole size or an unusual configuration, we can identify the right part before the visit.

What if my sink doesn't have an overflow hole?

Overflow is the slot near the top of the basin. If your sink has one, the pop-up assembly must be vented through it. If not, a simpler drain plug can be used instead. We install both types.

Is this a quick repair?

Yes — most pop-up drain installs take 30–45 minutes, including adjusting the linkage to operate smoothly.
