ProfessionalShower Cartridge Replacement
A shower handle that drips after you turn it off — or won't hold a consistent temperature — almost always has a worn cartridge inside. We pull the handle and trim, swap the cartridge for the matching replacement, and reinstall everything so the valve operates smoothly and stays dry.

How it works
Remove trim and handle
We shut off the water supply, remove the handle screw and trim plate, and expose the cartridge retaining clip or nut.
Pull and replace the cartridge
We use a cartridge puller to draw the old one out without damaging the valve body, then press the new cartridge in with the correct orientation.
Reassemble and test
We reinstall the trim, turn the water back on, and cycle the handle through cold, warm, and hot to confirm smooth control and no drip.
We can help
Problems we fix
- Handle that drips from the spout after being shut off — classic cartridge wear
- Temperature that runs too hot even at the lowest setting — worn or misoriented cartridge
- Handle that's loose or spins without effectively stopping the flow
- Water that takes very long to reach the desired temperature because the cartridge has degraded
- Pressure-balance cartridge that doesn't compensate for toilet flushes anymore

Shower Cartridge Replacement — FAQ
How do you know which cartridge to use?
The brand is typically embossed on the trim plate or escutcheon. We identify the valve maker (Moen, Delta, Kohler, etc.) and bring the correct replacement or source it before the visit.
Do you need to open the wall to replace a shower cartridge?
No. The cartridge is accessed entirely from the front — handle, trim, and retaining clip — without touching the wall.
What if the valve body itself is damaged?
If the brass valve body is corroded or the cartridge seat is damaged, a cartridge swap alone won't stop the leak. We'll show you exactly what we find and what the options are.
