What if the diverter is the problem instead of the hose?

A failed diverter means the spray/stream switch in the faucet body has worn out. On most faucets it's a replaceable cartridge — we'll identify which issue it is before ordering anything.

Can the leaking hose damage my cabinet?

Over time, yes. A slow drip can warp the cabinet floor and create mold. We check for moisture and let you know if you need to air-dry or seal the area after the repair.
